Verifying and mapping Russian attacks on the Ukrainian Civilian population

Since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, the names of cities like Bucha, Mariupol and Kharkiv have become synonymous with the horrors that Russia is inflicting on the Ukrainian civilian population. Geolocating social media posts as well as on-the-ground accounts and visualising this information has become an important tool to make our readers aware of the extent of the Russian invasion. The following articles reconstruct and map potential war crimes committed by Russian soldiers in Ukraine:
