The HackEOn Event aims to bring together students from different disciplines to innovate how Earth Observation data can be used to address today's challenges. I gave a short inspirational keynote on how satellite imagery and data can be used to report on global news, with many examples from my work as a visual journalist at the Swiss daily «Neue Zürcher Zeitung». After the presentation, I joined a panel with experts from the European Space Agency, the United Nations Satellite Centre, the MSCI Climate Risk Center and Google Earth Engine.
